Touching moments! Overwhelmed by grief, the family of police officer Enea Mekolli, who was killed in the line of duty yesterday, mourns the loss of their loved one today. While paying homage in Pogradec, President Bajram Begaj was confronted with an episode where the victim’s family members demanded accountability.
It was the 36-year-old’s uncle who held Begaj accountable for the incident, while asking for measures to be taken since criminals are killing innocent lives.
“He left this country in the hands of criminals. He closed the door on us, don’t leave the criminals behind. There have been three attempts to arrest him, you must take action, you are killing us, get over yourself, he left this country in the hands of criminals, criminals are ruling every corner of Albania. The police do not dominate, but crime dominates. We are sinking. You brought us to the bottom. There were no protective measures,” said the uncle, while Begaj did not react, but hugged him.
