The tour of meetings for the 35th anniversary of the Socialist Party stopped in Fier, where the socialist leader Edi Rama described it as the capital of the socialists.
He focused most of his speech on developments in Tirana, on the protesters who had gathered for the tenth day in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, demanding the cancellation of the Zvërnec project.
According to Rama, some of the protesters are falling prey to fictitious narratives and political manipulation by new political formations.
“I’m not saying that the people who come out to protest are agents or brought in by the agency. But apart from a part that are these young politicians from new parties who quickly became obsolete, there is also a part of people who have fallen prey to this. Thinking like that is very naive.”
While he was informed that the methods for resigning did not work for him.
“If someone and some come out to protest and ask me to be gentle, there is an ethical minimum to determine what the concern is about: Sazani, flamingos, Zvërnec. Rama called for the public discussion on the investment in Zvërnec to be closed by June 12.
Until this date, according to Rama, true environmentalism must be separated from false information, which he described as ‘slander and slander’.
