MEP Salis from the EP: In Albania, they are protesting against a government that does not protect the interests of the people!

MEP Ilaria Salis from the Group of the European Left, who has submitted amendments related to the Zvërnec issue to the European Parliament, has stated that the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama is not protecting the interests of the people.

During her speech in the European Parliament, the MEP greeted the protesters, who according to her have taken to the streets to protest against a government that is not protecting the interests of the people.

Stressing that the protests in Albania are a battle for popular sovereignty, she called for Zvërnec not to be sold to ‘speculators Trump and Kushner.’
She further called on the European Union to carefully monitor what is happening in Albania.

“Albania is truly a model for Europe this week. Many people have taken to the streets to protest against a government that is not protecting the interests of the people.”

Albania is not for sale. It should not be sold to speculators, Trump and Kushner, just because they think they can buy everything: land, nature, and democracy.

What we are seeing is not just a movement; it is a battle for popular sovereignty. It is a people reclaiming their rights in the face of the dominant economic logic of this agenda.

“I think Europe should watch very carefully what is happening in Albania, because this is something important for the European Union. This is a vibrant people, capable of mobilizing for justice and freedom,” said MEP Salis, among other things.
