Marjana Koçek’s departure/ Rama issues a strong warning to the SP: Don’t be surprised, we will have many more

A few days after Marjana Koçeku resigned from the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, declaring herself an independent MP, Prime Minister Edi Rama has avoided a direct comment on her departure.

Although he did not mention Marjana Koçeku by name, the prime minister warned of other possible leaks from the ranks of the socialists, as he stated that “many others will come to our side, behind, in front of us.”

Among other things, Rama emphasized that he is not intimidated or intimidated, adding that he is not surprised by such cases.

With harsh tones towards critics and the protests that have been taking place for 20 days in Tirana and other cities in the country, Rama stated that the Socialist Party should not choose the easiest path nor seek to be liked by everyone.

“We will be criticized, we will be attacked, but we have an obligation not to choose the easy way, not to choose to be popular when we should be responsible. It’s been a while since I felt chosen to be liked. That desire has disappeared from me.

We are not to be liked, but to be useful. Albania today is in our hands, it is not a hashtag, it is not a flamingo that is dragged around to look pretty, it is in a war with itself and the EU is our Ithaca. Let the sirens sing, that is their job, we have a duty to take Albania to that shore at all costs.

Don’t be surprised that on this path, many others will appear to us from the side, behind, and in front of us. It’s not the work of agencies, we have as much evidence as you want, thanks to the algorithm, digital mercenaries come even from places you don’t think you were their target.

“We have no business with any of them, in the sense of being intimidated or compensated. This is the most difficult path, it is my path, ours and the SP’s,” said Rama.

Koçek’s departure from the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group has sparked numerous debates in the media and in politics, raising questions about the reasons for this decision and the impact it may have on the future of the Socialist Party.

The MP’s statement about alleged threats by members of the Bajri group has also aroused great attention and public concern, an issue that continues to remain at the center of public and political debate.
