Minister of Justice, Toni Gogu, invited to the show “The Unexposed” on MCN TV, categorically rejected the protesters’ demand for the resignation of Rama and the government.
Gogu said that the government was mandated after the May 11 elections and that Rama’s duty is to govern according to the will of the people.
Ylli Rakipi: The first demand of the protesters is the non-negotiable resignation of the prime minister and the government. If this is not done, the other demands will fall. Every demand starts with the resignation of the government. Have you discussed this?
Toni Gogu: We discussed it on May 11 when the people decided. There, they discussed who would govern Albania.
The prime minister’s job is to govern. He has been on tour for two months listening to the people. He spent two hours with the residents of Zvërnec.
He called on the protesters who are there for concrete issues, “Come and talk.” When he realized that they were under the spell of the algorithm, then the prime minister’s duty is to govern the country.
