New footage has been released from the dramatic rescue operation of a family that was trapped in a burning apartment in the early hours of the morning in the Lapraka area.
As can be seen in the video below, State Police officers took the family’s children in their arms and took them out of the apartment, while the fire had engulfed their apartment on the seventh floor of the building.
The incident was recorded at around 03:10, when flames broke out in an apartment on “Bernard Bilota” Street, at the Arab Palaces in Lapraka. Inside the apartment were two parents along with their two minor children, who were trapped due to the fire and thick smoke.
Thanks to the immediate response of the police and fire services, the family was evacuated in time, avoiding a tragedy. The rescue operation took place in difficult conditions, while the officers and firefighters risked their lives to get all the family members to safety.
The published footage proves not only the difficulty of the intervention, but also the dedication of the blue uniforms and firefighters, who in a few minutes managed to save the lives of two children and their parents.
