40-year-old Besnik Kolndreu will continue to remain in prison, after the Lezha Court upheld the security measure “Arrest in prison”, imposed in absentia against him, as part of the investigation into the murder of the couple Kreshnik and Gentjana Mujeci in the village of Balldren, Lezha.
During the closed-door hearing, Kolndreu denied any involvement in the incident. He stated that he lives and works in Montenegro and that he had no knowledge of the vehicle used by the suspected perpetrators, which was found hidden near his parents’ apartment in the Torovica area. Despite his claims, the Court accepted the Prosecution’s request and sentenced the 40-year-old to “Arrest in Prison” for the criminal offense of “Supporting the perpetrator of the crime”, committed in collaboration.
Besnik Kolndreu was arrested on June 17 in Ulcinj by Montenegrin authorities, after being wanted as a suspect for aiding and abetting the perpetrators of the crime.
Meanwhile, three other people suspected of being the perpetrators of the murder, Renato Mhillaj, Florin Mhillaj and Adriano Mhillaj, remain at large.
Kreshnik and Gentjana Mujeci were executed on April 26, while they were driving their vehicle on the Balldre-Torovicë axis. According to preliminary investigations, the crime is suspected to have been committed for revenge motives.
