The daughter of Tahir Sinan, a martyr of the war in Kosovo, has reacted sharply after Taulant Balla included her on a list of names of KLA mercenaries.
Rugova Sinani writes that this is a grave humiliation for her father, the legendary KLA commander.
“Only an unscrupulous person could do this. Taulant Balla urgently needs to apologize publicly. Today you killed my father for the second time! His blood will break the necks of you and all those who touch the wound that hurts,” she said.

I just saw the letter published by Taulant Balla, supposedly a list of the names of mercenaries in the KLA, because that’s what he called the freedom fighters. A half-hearted letter, without specifics, where at the top is the name of my father, the National Hero Tahir Sinani. The man who sacrificed everything for the national cause, the liberator of three wars. Today Taulant Balla, a remnant of Albanian Politics, desecrates and insults the name and blood of my father.

Tahir Sinan fell a martyr for the freedom of Albanian lands, not for a political party. And if you don’t know Tahir Sinan, all of Albania knows him. He went away with glory, but what will you leave behind?! Shame on you!
KLA War Veterans Organization Your duty is to protect the rights of veterans, the families of martyrs and the values of war and not to engage in politics under the guise of the KLA through this organization. Otherwise, immediately disband as a leadership group and be led by people who know the value of war and the blood of martyrs.

Tahir Sinani, from Tropoja, was an officer in the Albanian Army when he joined the KLA. He actively participated in three liberation wars in the Balkans.
During 1998-1999, he joined the Kosovo Liberation Army. He served as a prominent commander in the Pashtrik Operational Zone, leading important combat operations against Serbian forces.
After the end of the war in Kosovo, he contributed to the organization and structuring of the Liberation Army for Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac to protect the rights of Albanians there.
Tahir Sinani was martyred on July 29, 2001 in the Tanusha Mountains (in the vicinity of Gostivar), during an accidental explosion of ammunition in a KLA weapons depot, where he lost his life along with four other comrades.
He was buried with full military honors and holds the high title of Hero of the Nation. In November 2025, a magnificent statue was unveiled in the city of Prizren in his honor.
