A tragic accident took the life of a young Albanian man in Italy on Friday evening. The serious road incident occurred around 11:00 PM and has shocked the Albanian community in the area.
According to Italian media reports, the victim was a 19-year-old of Albanian origin, residing in Monopoli. The young man was traveling in the back seat of a Mercedes-Benz vehicle at the time of the fatal collision.
For reasons that have not yet been fully clarified, the car in which the 19-year-old was travelling was involved in a serious collision with a Toyota vehicle driven by a woman. The impact was extremely powerful, causing both vehicles to lose control and also collide with several vehicles parked on the side of the road. As a result, considerable material damage was caused.
Emergency services immediately arrived at the scene of the accident and transported the young man to the hospital, but he did not survive his injuries and died upon arrival at the emergency room.
The driver of the Toyota, as well as another passenger traveling in the Mercedes-Benz, were also slightly injured in the accident.
Italian police have launched investigations to determine the full dynamics of the event and to uncover the causes that led to the fatal accident.
