Ilir Meta is the best president Albania has had in these 35 years. This is what Kujtim Cakrani, the lawyer of the leader of the PL, said. In a statement to the media after today’s hearing against Ilri Meta and Monika Kryemadhi, Cakrani emphasized that Meta has not put his hands in the pockets of Albanians.
“The most honest one has not put his hands in the pockets of Albanians. He has not given PPP, nor is he connected to the mafia, nor has he made personal laws. Time is the best medicine that will heal everything. We will convince the court to make a decision based on evidence.”
In his speech to journalists, lawyer Cakrani stood by his earlier statement that he would give his wealth to Ilir Meta. He said that he is giving this wealth and protection to the president of his country, who according to Cakrani filled the square on March 2 because they wanted to eliminate him.
“I am from Suat Beu and I have no problem leaving you 50 thousand euros from my property. You know the answer, I come from a rich family, I do not leave it to Meta, but I leave it to the president of my country. I do not defend Ilir Meta, but I defend the president of Albania who held office from 2017 to 2022 and like no other filled the square on March 2 because they rose up against him to eliminate him politically and physically.” (A2 Television)
