21-year-old Samir Fermaca, who lost his life in a tragic accident in Bergamo, Italy, a few days ago, will be laid to rest in his hometown, Shkodra.
It is learned that the funeral ceremony for the 21-year-old will take place tomorrow, at 5:00 PM, while family condolences receptions will be held throughout the weekend.
Meanwhile, previously undisclosed testimony from a bystander has come to light, which may implicate a second driver, who is suspected of leaving the scene after the fatal accident that occurred on Saturday morning on the ring road.
Fermaca was riding his 26-year-old cousin’s motorcycle. After leaving the traffic lights in Campagnola, heading towards the A4 motorway, they were overtaken by an Audi SUV, which, as it was reversing into its lane, partially cut off the road.
The victim’s cousin reacted to the driver and overtook him from the right. During this maneuver, when the two vehicles were next to each other, the 21-year-old kicked the SUV’s mirror, causing the motorcycle to lose balance. As a result, he fell to the asphalt and was knocked unconscious, while his cousin escaped without injury.
According to the initial reconstruction of the incident, based on the testimony of the cousin and the driver of the SUV, there are no security cameras in the area where the accident occurred. Preliminary investigations indicate that Fermaca hit his head on the asphalt.
However, a witness who was traveling behind the SUV and motorcycle claims that a second vehicle came very close to the young man as he lay on the road, raising suspicions that it may have hit him. The prosecution, however, suspects that this vehicle did not contribute to the fatal outcome of the accident.
The autopsy will be performed using the least invasive method possible, in order to make it possible to donate the 21-year-old’s organs.
