The Special Court has sentenced Plaurent Dervishaj to life imprisonment for the assassination attempt on former prosecutor Arjan Ndoja, in which the driver Andi Maloku was killed and the former prosecutor and Aleksandër Laho were injured. For Julian Meçen, the court sentenced him to 35 years in prison. According to the court’s decision, both defendants were found guilty of their involvement in the armed attack on the former prosecutor.

The incident took place in November 2019 at the Shkozet overpass, where the perpetrators fired a volley of shots at the prosecutor’s vehicle, which then went off the road. In addition to Plaurent Dervishaj and Julian Meçaj, the Special Prosecution Office has also charged 11 other people, who are Julian Pjetri, Arjol Halilaj, Amar Shkëmbi, Bashkim Haxhija, Bledar Polovinë, Endrit Sinanin, Genti Nderjaku, Ramazan Rraja and Redjan Rraja. Earlier, the Special Court sentenced Arjol Halilaj to 35 years in prison and Redjan Rraja to life imprisonment.
