In an interview with Euronews Albania, the Minister of Interior, Besfort Lamallari, warned that there may be other people who could be declared “Non Grata” by the Albanian government because they could threaten the country’s national security.
“Then, I said it a little earlier, let me repeat it. Every week, I have dozens of requests on my desk that come from law enforcement agencies. This is a dynamic work that continues day after day. And if it turns out that these people are involved in organized crime, in serious crimes, in fraud, in blackmail that is done to Albanian citizens.
If it happens that these people participate, in addition to their daily activities, of course I said dangerous, also participate in the protest, this does not mean that we will be intimidated. Our task is to implement the law point by point, because at the end of the day, regardless of the nuances or different political situations, the State Police must be at the top of their duties and protect Albanian citizens. And, without being intimidated by the public pressure that can be created by the various trials that may come.
But, of course, this is my duty, this is the duty of the Albanian government, this is what we have been entrusted with and above all, the public interest prevails..,” said Lamallari.
