A heartbreaking story has emerged from the rubble of the devastating earthquake that hit Venezuela. The wife of Venezuelan footballer Héctor Bello lost her life after sacrificing herself to save their one-year-old daughter.
According to local media reports, when the building where the family lived collapsed due to seismic tremors, Andrea Bello instinctively covered her daughter with her body to protect her from the rubble. Thanks to this heroic action, the little girl was pulled out alive and without serious injuries, while Andrea remained trapped under the rubble and was found lifeless by rescue teams.
The incident has affected public opinion and the world of sports. Héctor Bello, defender of Deportivo Marítimo de La Guaira, shared his pain on social media with a touching message.
“Leave us alone in this battle, mom. Leave me alone with our daughter,” he wrote alongside a family photo.
Later, the footballer published another message that touched thousands of people:
“How will I explain to our daughter that you died to save her? How will I tell her that I wasn’t there and couldn’t do anything? Give me strength, because I can’t do it anymore.”
