Ranking of the most powerful passports in the world, here’s where Albania ranks this year

Albania ranks 43rd in the world out of 199 countries surveyed in terms of the number of countries where Albanian citizens can travel without visas.

The index is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), and the main criterion is the number of countries where citizens of a country can travel without a prior visa.

Singapore tops the list, with citizens able to travel visa-free to 192 countries. Japan, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates share second place with 188 countries, while Sweden is third with 187.

Fourth place is shared by Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway and Spain with 186 places, and fifth by Austria, Greece, Malta, Portugal and Switzerland with 185.

In the region, Slovenia ranks 7th with 183 places and Croatia 8th with 182. Serbia stands in 34th place.

Montenegro and North Macedonia have improved their position and share 41st place, with visa-free access to 127 countries, five more destinations than the Albanian passport.
