Australian authorities are investigating the origin of six mysterious large spheres that appeared on Forrest Beach, in northern Queensland, and which are suspected to be space debris.
The Australian Space Agency is working to determine the origin of the objects, while specialist teams, equipped with protective suits, have placed them in hazardous materials barrels under police supervision.
Authorities have established a 50-meter security perimeter and have urged citizens not to touch the objects, but to immediately notify emergency services if they encounter any similar ones.
Speculation has circulated online that the spheres could be spacecraft propellant tanks, which could contain remnants of flammable or reactive substances.
