The Police Supervision Agency (AMP) has reacted after a video was published on social media, allegedly featuring several of its employees in the city of Saranda, who are heard commenting on two tourists passing by them.
In an official announcement, AMP announced that it has temporarily suspended the employees allegedly appearing in the video, while it has initiated disciplinary proceedings to fully clarify the circumstances of the case.
The agency also announces that the first procedural actions are being carried out and the relevant materials will be referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Saranda for further evaluation and prosecution according to jurisdiction.
AMP has also explained the reason for the presence of its employees at the scene. According to the announcement, on June 11, 2026, AMP employees were in Saranda, together with State Police employees, in the framework of the implementation of a prosecutor’s order, issued on the basis of a court decision, to search the apartment of police officer Ajdin Islamaj.
According to the AMP, Ajdin Islamaj is a person under investigation within the framework of criminal proceedings no. 304/2026 for the criminal offense of “Abuse of office”, provided for by Article 248 of the Criminal Code, against whom a security measure has been imposed.
The agency adds that, during the execution of the search warrant, the police officer initially objected and refused to open the door of the apartment to conduct the search.
