A consortium of companies led by Fusha has been announced the winner of the Albanian Road Authority’s major contract to green the Tirana-Durres Highway.
The limit fund for this contract was predetermined at 1.32 billion lek or 14 million euros. But the consortium consisting of Fusha, Udha and Taulant shpk was declared the winner with a bid of 9.7 million euros or 4.3 million euros less than the limit value.
According to documents published in the APP, 6 bids were submitted in the competition for the “Completion of works and aesthetic improvement from Shqiponja Square to the Limuthi underpass”.

The lowest was the merger of the companies IDK Construction and Elmazaj with 899 million lekë, but this offer was disqualified for not meeting the criteria.
The offer of the merger led by Fusha was the second lowest at 908.4 million lekë.
Additional money for Tirana-Durres
The contract in question has as its object “Completion of works and aesthetic improvement from Shqiponja Square to the Limuthi underpass”. According to the documents, the intervention for the greening of the Tirana-Durrës highway consists of the implementation of these works: Filling works with vegetable soil; Planting with grass; Planting decorative shrubs; Planting decorative trees; Automatic irrigation system for green areas.
“The total area foreseen for the implementation of the greening project is approximately 65,000.00 m², which includes filling with vegetal soil. The traffic divider has a length of 7,050 ml and a width of 1.8 m, where planting with decorative shrubs is foreseen.
The side part, from the barrier to the drainage channel, in both directions of the Tirana-Durres road, has a length of about 6000 m and a width ranging from 1.2 m to 3.8 m, where planting with decorative trees and shrubs is foreseen. Other green spaces occupy an area of about 31,000.00 m², where planting with grass is foreseen.
“The construction of an automatic irrigation system for green areas, remote monitoring and control through an automated system is foreseen,” the document states.
The procurement procedure also provides for the lighting of the Laknas junction connecting Tirana-Durres, as well as some specifications related to lighting in different parts of the road and specifications for pedestrian overpasses./ kapitali.al
