Prime Minister Edi Rama’s reflections on the flamingo protest were preceded by a tense situation in the joint meeting this Friday between the government and the parliamentary group, where, as Report TV learns, there was a very strong clash between the head of government and Erion Braçe, after which the MP chose to leave the meeting.
During the closed-door discussions, Rama has again criticized his own, some ministers and MPs, for their public approach. He has criticized the Minister of Interior for the way he dealt with the protests, or the Minister of Agriculture, for the case mentioned in his public speech, of a citizen whose request for an investment had been left unanswered for three years, while he has asked the MPs to say in the meeting “what you discuss around the tables”.
Rama has returned to his repeated remarks about the “elbow fight” within the Socialist Party, stating that “everyone must understand that attacks on each other do nothing but lower the shares of our joint enterprise, and thus the shares of each of you.”
Rumors within the group told the media that the meeting took an unexpected turn after the speech of MP Erion Braçe, which was followed by a reply from the prime minister, turning into a fierce verbal clash with high tones between the two. It was a break requested by the head of the parliamentary group Taulant Balla that “extinguished” the fire, with MP Braçe choosing to leave the meeting in a demonstrative manner.
