The National Bureau of Investigation conducted inspections at the premises of the Tirana Municipality this Tuesday.
According to sources for Vox News, BKH investigators, as part of SPAK’s investigations, have conducted searches and seizures at the Municipality premises where they are suspected of seizing documentation related to the travels of Mayor Erion Veliaj.
Investigators are still staying at the Tirana Municipality building.
Up to this point, no other details have been announced.
Mayor Erion Veliaj, under investigation by SPAK, was arrested on February 10, 2025 and has been in Durrës detention since then.
Veliaj is facing a trial at the GJKKO, where he is accused of criminal offenses such as corruption and money laundering.
The mayor of Tirana has denied the charges against him and has declared his innocence.
