Journalist Klodiana Lala has revealed new details regarding the arrest in France of businessman Ermal Beqiri, wanted by SPAK as part of the investigation into the AKSHI file. According to her, the arrest occurred after an unusual incident, while Beqiri was flying a civilian plane over a nuclear plant.
Invited to News24, Lala said that French authorities determined that the plane was flying at a much lower altitude than permitted, in a high-security area where a nuclear project is being developed. This led the air force to escort the plane and demand explanations from the pilot.
According to the journalist, Beqiri justified himself by saying that the descent was unintentional, as he was talking on the phone with his mother at the time. However, this explanation did not convince the authorities, who during verifications discovered that he was a person wanted by Albanian justice.
Lala added that several GPS devices were also found on the plane, which, according to her, raised suspicions that the movements may have been planned. She stressed that so far there is no information whether French authorities are investigating other leads, including the possibility of an espionage investigation.
“The arrest is one of the best news for SPAK, as this businessman is one of the leaders of the criminal group that was operating against AKSHI. It concerns an incident that occurred in Pendi over a nuclear power plant, where the guards realized that this aircraft was moving at a rate not in accordance with the rules, as work is being done on a new nuclear project.”
The air force has escorted this civilian aircraft to learn the reasons why it was flying at a lower altitude than the law requires. He has given some answers that have raised strong suspicions. He has stated that he was talking on his cell phone with his mother so it was an unintentional landing, since it is a nuclear power plant, the authorities have gone further and discovered that he is a wanted person by the Albanian authorities.
He also had several GPS devices with him, which indicates that he was making planned movements, perhaps directed by other people.
There is still no information from the prosecution about whether illegal items have been found, and it is not known whether he is being investigated in France for espionage.
Could Beqiri have been transporting the corruption money of the AKSHI?
His arrest is very good news. Ermal Beqiri became very famous for his expertise in Meta’s video, in the theft of data, and then he received the lion’s share of the AKSHI tenders.
The State Police have confirmed that he will appear in court and then, depending on the circumstances, an extradition request will be submitted. It turns out that the French authorities have requested that Ermal Beqiri’s arrest not be reported. There may be evidence of serious criminal offenses and he is currently in custody on behalf of the Albanian authorities.
It is estimated that 80 thousand euros of tenders were received, during the time he applied to the ANA together with Ergys Agasin they received 200 million euros of tenders and seized millions of euros of assets. Daniel Shimë’s testimony was kept Top Secret.
Ermal Beqiri had a pilot’s license, he is fond of a luxurious life. He has a luxurious yacht, the wine that was seized from the Ergys Ags winery alone is worth millions of euros.
Ermal Beqiri is the person who also installed cameras in Ergys Agas’s apartment. Since the Meta-Prifti case, he has sensitive data from very high institutions from the Bank of Albania or even the justice system. When Emmanuel Macron visited Tirana, one of the people who appeared at his side was Ermal Beqiri and ironically he was arrested in France.
Ermal Beqiri has never been part of AKSHI, he is an IT expert. Geron Meçe was held hostage for hours to withdraw, but it is suspected that there are other businessmen who were forced by Ergys Agasi and Ermal Beqiri to withdraw. Prosecutors have managed to obtain information about how the documents were prepared and some businessmen were not given a security certificate and could not compete. The charges against him are serious and the margin of punishment is very high,” she said.
