“The Ministry of Health is deceiving”/ Staff publishes video: The patient did not die, he was abandoned in an ambulance at the Port of Durres

Journalist Osman Stafa has published a video on social media, where he makes strong accusations against the Durrës Regional Hospital and the Ministry of Health regarding the case of a citizen identified as Tani.

According to the Staff, the man was transported by ambulance and left at the premises of the Durrës Fishing Port, where he stayed for a night and a day, without being handed over to his family, as claimed in official statements.

“The Durrës Hospital and the Ministry of Health are lying when they say they left him with a family member. They left him inside the port, where there are no family members, homes or people living there,” said Stafa in his reaction.

According to him, Tani had previously been treated at a hospital in Tirana, where he was expected to be fitted with a prosthesis, and was then transferred to Durres Hospital. Just two days ago, the activist claims, he was taken by ambulance to the Port of Durres, where he was allegedly abandoned.

Staff adds that, although information had previously circulated that the citizen had passed away, witnesses present claimed that he was still alive. According to him, one of the patient’s legs was amputated today.

The activist seeks clarification from health authorities on how the case was handled and rejects the claim that the patient was handed over to family members, emphasizing that the place where he was left is not a residential area.

The allegations raised by Osman Stafa are public, while a reaction is expected from the responsible institutions to clarify the circumstances of the case.
