The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, invited to the show “Off the Record” by journalist Andrea Danglli on A2CNN, spoke about his political future and the challenges of age in leading the party and the country if he is re-elected prime minister.
Asked by the journalist where he sees himself in September 2029, Berisha said that confronting the current government remains his primary concern.
“They are in the hands of the Almighty. It is important to do everything to save Albanians from this narco-dictatorship,” declared the leading democrat.
When journalist Andrea Danglli pointed out that if he is re-elected prime minister, he will be 89 years old at the end of his term, Berisha responded with optimism, even using popular Tirana expressions.
“Years are numbers, you can divide them by two. But the tyrants have a saying, a wisdom that comes from antiquity: ‘A slave grows old when he wants to’. I guarantee Albanians that the first moment I realize that age prevents me from fulfilling my obligations, I will say ‘goodbye’,” the opposition leader stated firmly.
