In the international media, Prime Minister Edi Rama is not at all the same when asked about the protest. If his mouth is completely loose when he speaks Albanian, when asked by foreign journalists he is much more restrained, in an actor’s attempt to show that he is a prudent politician and that in Albania everything works well with the basic principles of democracy, singling out the protest as a value.
“I have reflected long on this protest and I have realized that for people – and rightly so – it is not simply about the facts; it is the highest expectations that bring people to the streets. This is wonderful, that is why I said it is fantastic and I understand them, ” Rama told British TV “Channel 4”.
In the international arena, Rama is trying to show that the protest, which has been going on for 60 days, is something normal, an added value and an important element according to him because democracy works here. But if English is showing restraint in the face of trouble, surely as soon as the international media turns its back, the screams in Albanian and the anger are great for the “ravens” and “crows”, insulting with bird epithets precisely the protesters who have only one refrain: “Rama, resign”.
“My speech was about the lessons I learned from the flamingos and was addressed to them, not the black feathers that gather every night on the boulevard after the flamingos’ migration. In that speech, the crows and ravens were part, because they are the dark side of the protest, but not because they have a part in those lessons or in the obligations derived from those lessons. So the crows and ravens should not even get tired of rejecting the FAITH because our FAITH has nothing to do with them,” Rama recently stated regarding the protesters.
The completely different language and attitudes actually do not show the “bipolar person”, but the prime minister who has mastered deception and the way to cover up evil, but now a denigrated master.
