The Dibra Police have finalized the anti-drug operation codenamed “Deja”, after intensive ground controls and aerial drone monitoring to prevent and crack down on cases of narcotic plant cultivation.
As part of the operation, 1,121 suspected narcotic Cannabis Sativa plants were found in a cultivated plot in the area called “Lake Lukani”, public property in the territory of the Dibër municipality.
For their cultivation, the Police services have caught and arrested two people in flagrante delicto: AK, 38 years old, resident of Kamëz, and AB, 39 years old, resident of the village of Derjan, Mat municipality.
The narcotic plants were destroyed by burning. The operation was carried out based on information provided by Crime Investigation specialists at the Dibër Police Department, in cooperation with the services of the Dibër Police Commissariat, the Mat Police Commissariat and the Kamëz Police Commissariat.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Dibër for further action.
The police have appealed to citizens, especially residents of rural areas, to report any case or indication of the cultivation of narcotic plants, emphasizing that cooperation with the authorities is important for preventing and combating this criminal activity.
