According to forecasts by Italian experts from the Lamma Consortium, the African anticyclone will continue to dominate the weather for most of next week, with its peak expected between Wednesday and Saturday, when temperatures in many areas of our region could reach 38-40 degrees, with local peaks above 40 degrees.
Maximum temperatures will be slightly lower along the coast, but accompanied by high humidity and humid conditions. Minimums will also remain high, above 20 degrees almost everywhere.
The Mediterranean Sea, with surface temperatures between 29 and 30 degrees, will also contribute to the heat, with anomalous temperatures reaching depths of up to 40-50 meters.
According to Lamma, this phase of intense heat is expected to last a total of 11-12 days, with relief expected around August 9-10.
However, the cessation remains uncertain and the arrival of new heat waves during August cannot be ruled out. /Mapo.al/
