He killed her and put her in a suitcase/ Footage emerges, 26-year-old calmly drags the lifeless body of a 38-year-old woman into the city center

Shocking new details have emerged from the investigation into the murder of 38-year-old British woman Elizabeth Ross in Athens, as police have released footage showing the suspect’s movements after the crime.

In the video provided by Greek authorities, the 26-year-old Afghan appears in central Athens calmly dragging a large suitcase down the street, as if he were transporting luggage for a trip. But inside it, according to investigations, was the body of the 38-year-old British woman, who had been killed a short while earlier.

According to investigators, the young man had planned to dispose of the victim’s body in an abandoned apartment in the Kypseli area, where it was found eight days after the murder. In parallel, he allegedly launched an attempt to hide the crime, using the victim’s phone and sending messages to her relatives in order to create the impression that she was still alive.

The investigation took a crucial turn after the victim’s identity was confirmed through cooperation with the Interpol office in Washington. After this moment, authorities began to reconstruct her movements and recent contacts.

According to the investigation, on the evening of July 16, the suspect was filmed arriving at the Exarchia area, where he and his partner lived. A little later, security cameras captured him leaving the building with a large suitcase.

At 10:43 p.m. he was seen walking down Evelpidon Street with the suitcase that allegedly contained the 38-year-old’s body and another bag. Just minutes later, cameras recorded him leaving the area without the suitcase and bag. Police suspect that the victim, who arrived in Greece from Edinburgh on June 29 for humanitarian volunteering, had been in contact with the suspect before her death.

Investigators have also noticed that after her disappearance, messages sent from her phone had changes in style and manner of communication, raising suspicions that the device was being used by another person. Another important element for the investigation is the testimony of the 26-year-old’s partner, who, after learning the victim’s identity, began to suspect his involvement.

She left the apartment with her child and handed over to the police a new phone and a sum of money that, according to her, the suspect had given her after the British woman’s disappearance. Greek authorities are continuing their investigations to clarify all the circumstances of the murder and its motive.
