New details have come to light from the arrest of 5 young men in Għashtë, Saranda, where a possible criminal incident was prevented. As we have previously reported, police suspect that they intended to execute a person, while it is further learned that the five have criminal records in the field of narcotics.
Media sources have reported that they were in two different cars and at the moment they collided, Sidorel Moriseni, 32, and Alfred Kaja, 26, were the ones who were caught with guns in their hands by the police. The arrested were caught in an alley near the apartment of Rexhep Ismail, who was killed in his bar in May of this year.
The five arrested young men (Sidorel Moriseni, Alfred Kaja, Vonis Poka, Vitrin Hoxha, Franko Bobja) have refused to speak to investigators who are still verifying whether their stop in this area was accidental or not. There is still no official reaction confirming the connection of the presence of the 5 young men in the neighborhood in question with the murder of Rexhep Ismail.
The murder of Rexhep Ismail
Businessman Rexhep Ismaili was killed on May 7 of this year, in the village of Gjashtë, Saranda, inside a gas station he owned. According to media sources, the altercation during which Ismaili was killed did not directly involve the victim.
A group of people entered his bar and had a conflict with Viktor Ruçi, who was sitting at the table with Ismaili and some family members. It is learned that Rexhep Ismaili then told them “the boy is in our house and you can’t touch him here”, thus aggravating the situation.
First, a verbal argument began and then a physical one with hard objects. After that, Ismaili was the one who entered the bar and came out with a “Kalashnikov” type firearm, opening fire several times at the group of young people. On the other hand, the other group responded with a pistol, shooting Ismaili in the head with a bullet, who died on the spot.
The police have identified Lulzim Tabaku as the main perpetrator of this incident, who shot the businessman to death. While the suspect, part of the attacking group, Konstandin Vogli, has been given the security measure of arrest and imprisonment.
