The Transparency Board has published this Tuesday the new market prices for fuels. According to the board’s latest decision, which comes into effect at 17:00, the retail price of the SSH EN 590 standard diesel by-product should be no more than 205 lekë/liter, while the wholesale price should be no more than 193 lekë/liter.

The Transparency Board on May 19, 2026, at its next meeting, decided:
✅The retail price of the gasoil by-product of the SSH EN 590 standard should be no more than 205 lek/liter, while the wholesale price should be no more than 193 lek/liter.
✅The retail price of the SSH EN standard gasoline by-product should be no more than 189 lek/liter, while the wholesale price should be no more than 177 lek/liter.
🗓️The prices set by the Board will come into effect today, the 19th, at 5:00 PM and will be valid until the next board meeting where the changes in sales prices will be reflected.
⚠️We draw the attention of every wholesale and retail operator of petroleum by-products to the obligation to implement this decision.
🚫In case of violations found by various operators, the activity will be suspended.

EXPLANATION: Referring to Normative Act No. 1, Date 3.4.2026 “On an addition to Law No. 61/2012, “On excise duties in the Republic of Albania,” as amended, which provides that if the retail price for diesel is higher than 220 lek/liter, or for gasoline is higher than 200 lek/liter, the 80% excise duty level shall be applied. Based on the application of the methodology for calculating the retail price ceiling, the prices are below the limit of Normative Act No. 1, date 3.4.2026, and consequently the excise duty level shall be applied in full, 100%.
