The “crippled” phone call after the police search of the bar, will the director of Vlora, Edvin Ndreu, obey Hajrulla?

A routine check by the Vlora Police due to loud music at a bar in the “Ujit të Ftohtë” area has ended with the seizure of a firearm, suspected narcotics and sums of money.

It is learned that one of the well-known names in the criminal world in Vlora, Inez Hajrulla, known by the nickname “Sakati”, was also involved in the operation.

The incident was recorded at around 23:20 on August 1, when officers went to check on a subject after reports of loud music. According to sources from “Ora News”, during the check at the bar, a person introduced as the subject’s manager handed the officers his phone, where a video call was taking place on WhatsApp with Inez Hajrulla.

Over the phone, Hajrulla allegedly asked the officers to leave and not continue the search at the location. But the situation changed a few moments later.

According to the same sources, when the person placed the phone in a “marsup” type bag, the officers determined the presence of a firearm. The police intervened and searched the bag, where they found and seized a gun, suspected narcotics cocaine and Cannabis Sativa, sums of money in various currencies, a mobile phone and the keys to a Volkswagen vehicle.

The person, identified with the initials EO, a resident of Vlora, was neutralized and escorted to the police station. The search continued in his vehicle, a Volkswagen Golf, where another suspected quantity of Cannabis Sativa, wrapped in aluminum foil, was found and seized.

Who is Inez Hajrulla?

Inez Hajrulla, known in Vlora by the nickname “Sakati”, has been a familiar name in the city’s dark chronicle for years. He has been the target of several assassination attempts, while an explosive attack in 2017 caused him serious injuries and the loss of both legs.

In May 2019, Hajrulla was again the target of an assassination attempt in the “Ujit të Ftohtë” area, where the bar he was in was shot at. He survived the attack, while another person was injured.

His name has also been mentioned in other investigations into criminal events in Vlora. In 2023, authorities arrested an armed man suspected of preparing an assassination attempt on Hajrulla and Ervis Matodashaj.

In 2018, Hajrulla was sentenced to probation for the criminal offenses of “disobeying the order of a public order police officer” and “unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition.”

The latest case raises questions about how a person wanted by justice can intervene through a phone call during a police check. Investigations are expected to reveal whether the phone call had a specific purpose to hinder the check and whether the people involved acted on Hajrulla’s instructions.
