The High Court has upheld the decision of the Special Appeal on the Elbasan incinerator regarding the prison sentences of former Environment Minister Lefter Koka and 8 others, all of whom have already served their sentences. The appeal sentenced Lefter Koka to 10 years in prison, with a reduced sentence of 6 years and 8 months, while Alqi Bllako was sentenced to 4 years in prison, with a reduced sentence of 2 years and 8 months.
Klodian Zoto was sentenced to 10 years in prison and, with a shortened trial, was assigned 6.8 years in prison. The same sentence was given to Mirel Mërtiri. Stela Gugallja was sentenced to 7 years in prison and, with a shortened trial, was assigned 4.8 years.
Pëllumb Abeshi and Jonida Zeqo were sentenced to 4 years in prison and, with a shortened trial, were given 2.8 years in prison.
The Special Appeal also upheld the sentences for Bardhyl Çabirin, who was sentenced to 2 years in prison, and Serafin Papa to 1.4 years in prison.
The decision was also given by the criminal panel composed of Ilir Panda, Sokol Binaj and Sander Simoni.
