A 22-year-old man has died on a Southwest Airlines flight to Los Angeles, despite the efforts of the crew and passengers to save him.
The passenger suffered a medical emergency on board and those present performed several rounds of cardiopulmonary resuscitation as the plane continued its journey to California.
Upon landing at Los Angeles International Airport, emergency crews were waiting for the plane and immediately intervened to revive the young man, but without success.
The symptoms he displayed before losing consciousness have not yet been released, and it is not known whether the 22-year-old had any previous health problems.
Southwest Airlines confirmed that a “medical incident involving a passenger” had occurred on Flight 958, but the company did not provide further details about the circumstances of the incident.
