Changes to the Law on the State Police come into force, affecting the organization of management structures, appointments to the management levels of the police, the structure of the Police Post, as well as the rank system.
One of the main changes relates to the Director General of the State Police. With the new law, after completing his duty, he can return to the management structures of the State Police, but he cannot be reappointed to the position of Director General.
This provision differs from the previous law, which stipulated that the Director General, after the end of his mandate, could not return to the management structures and could only engage in the role of advisor.
Another important change relates to the appointment of heads of police stations and directorates. According to the new changes, appointments will once again be made by the Director General of the State Police.
This mechanism restores the method provided for in the previous law, while the 2024 law, which is now being amended, provided that appointments were made after a competition was held.

The changes also affect the territorial structure of the State Police. The structure known as the “Police Post”, which had been changed within the framework of the previous organization, is being restored.
Meanwhile, the new law also brings changes to the State Police rank system, reviewing the way they are organized and function. The new changes aim to define another way of organizing structures and management functions within the State Police.
