US confirms new ambassador to Albania, Eric Wendt takes office
Retired Lieutenant General Eric Wendt has been officially confirmed as the next United States Ambassador to Albania.
the news was announced by the US Embassy in Tirana through a post on social media, where it congratulated Wendt on his new assignment and outlined expectations for his mandate.
According to the embassy, among the new ambassador’s priorities are expected to be strengthening cooperation in the field of security, support for a stronger NATO, and promoting economic relations between the two countries.
The announcement notes that Wendt will work in line with US President Donald Trump’s vision for shared security, strengthening the NATO alliance, and creating favorable conditions for American businesses.
“Confirmed! Congratulations to retired Lieutenant General Eric Wendt on his new role as the next United States Ambassador to Albania,” the US Embassy said in a statement.
The Embassy has also expressed its satisfaction with the arrival of the appointed ambassador in Tirana, where he is expected to begin his diplomatic engagement and work to further strengthen relations between Albania and the United States.
