A serious incident has shaken Rome, where a 71-year-old woman was found dead inside a closet in her apartment. Her 51-year-old son has been arrested in connection with the incident, suspected of killing her after a conflict between them.
According to Italian media, the woman’s family had lost contact with her and notified the police, concerned about the constant arguments she was having with her son. It is suspected that the 51-year-old was asking her mother for money to buy drugs.
The carabinieri arrived at the 14th-floor apartment, where they found the body of the 71-year-old woman hidden inside a closet. The woman had a bag wrapped around her head and signs of injuries to her face.
Initially, the son gave a different version of events. He claimed that he had put the body in the closet the night before after his mother had fallen and hit her head.
However, this version did not convince the investigators. After questioning and initial verifications, the 51-year-old was detained and then arrested on suspicion of murdering his mother. Investigations continue to unravel the full dynamics of the incident and the exact motive for the crime.
