Three people have been rescued in Palasa after they were in danger of drowning due to deteriorating weather. Police say the three people had gone out to sea in a canoe and, due to deteriorating weather and difficult sea conditions, were in danger of drowning.

Police services intervened immediately, going to their aid and making it possible to bring them to shore, without risk to their lives. Fortunately, they are in good health.

During patrolling in the Palasa sector, the Border Police and Marine Police Unit services found 3 female citizens who had gone out to sea in a canoe and, due to deteriorating weather and difficult sea conditions, were at risk of drowning.

Police services intervened immediately, coming to their aid and making it possible to bring them to shore, without risk to their lives.

All three citizens are in good health and thanked the Border Police and Maritime Police Unit employees for their timely intervention and assistance.

“The Border Police and the Maritime Police Unit appeal to all vacationers and users of watercraft to show increased caution, to take into account atmospheric and marine conditions and to avoid going out to sea when they pose a risk to their safety,” the announcement states.
