The Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, has decided to expel from the police ranks employee Uljan Shpataraku, previously considered one of the closest people to former director Ilir Proda.
According to journalist Jensila Kodra, the measure of exclusion was taken on the grounds of failure to report regularly to duty, a violation that was assessed as repeated over time.
Shpataraku, who held the position of Assistant in the Information Technology Department of the State Police, had been suspended earlier, in March of this year, by Sokol Bizhga, then Acting Director of the State Police. This decision was also made with the same motivation.
In the March decision, the argument against him was the failure to implement legal provisions in fulfilling functional duties.
It is also learned that Shpataraku was pursuing his master’s degree at the Security Academy, while it is suspected that, with the excuse of continuing his studies, he did not show up regularly at work.
According to the procedures, Shpataraku has the right to appeal the expulsion decision, while the relevant commission is expected to review the case and confirm or overturn the decision within a month.
