The three arrested people were held in custody for about 1 month. They were then released due to lack of evidence. But the relatives of the Alikaj family have a different opinion. They claim that material evidence was found at the scene that incriminated the 3 newly released people. They also insist that apart from the conflict with the detained people, the Alikaj family had no other conflict.

“The Criminal Procedure Code itself, Article 37, point 5, stipulates in a mandatory manner that the accomplice must show all the elements of a criminal event, from the event itself, data for the prevention of other events, as well as the assets of the criminal activity,” said Florian Bonjaku, former prosecutor.
“The justice collaborator must reveal all the circumstances, their knowledge of the event, in full, without hiding anything from the prosecution,” said Ermal Yzeiri, a lawyer.
Despite the release of the 3 suspects, the Alikaj family points the finger precisely at those perpetrators who are now, in fact, deceased after being eliminated in other criminal cases. But the accomplices still remain without criminal responsibility. The Alikaj family raises suspicions that they were involved in destroying investigative evidence.
“Since they do not provide files, the Elbasan police have ruined this event, and I say this with full conviction,” said Vladimir Merxhani, the brother-in-law of the Alikaj brothers.
