The State Police has finalized other phases of the international operation codenamed “The Wanted”, in close cooperation with partners in Spain, Romania and the United Kingdom. The operation has led to the arrest of two persons wanted by the Albanian justice system.
In Romania, it was possible to arrest citizen Aurel Hoxhallari, 49 years old, born in Tirana, who will be extradited to Albania.
He was wanted by the Criminal Investigation Department since April 2018 for the criminal offenses of premeditated murder, organized criminal group and illegal possession of weapons and drugs. He is accused of having shot and killed citizen DK on January 29, 2018, on “Kongresi i Manastirit” street in Tirana, in collaboration with a Greek citizen and other persons. At that time, the police seized 9 firearms and 130 kg of cannabis during searches in the homes of the group members.
Also, through cooperation between Interpol Manchester and Interpol Tirana, the extradition from the United Kingdom of citizen Xhuljano Hoxha, 31 years old, born in Berat, was carried out.
The young man was wanted by SPAK with a security measure of “Arrest with imprisonment” set for April 2024, as he is accused of participating in a structured criminal group for the cultivation and sale of narcotics. This case is related to the action carried out by the authorities on November 10, 2022 in the village of Drenovicë, Berat.
