A 34-year-old German woman has been arrested at Munich Airport. She was arrested by German authorities after she was caught with 500 kilograms of cocaine that was coming from Colombia to Albania, while the narcotic substance was hidden in a garbage bag.
German media reports that the German woman was sentenced by an Albanian court to eight years in prison for organized drug trafficking.
Earlier this year, the 34-year-old requested to be transferred to Germany to serve the remainder of her sentence.
In February 2026, the Bremen Regional Court decided to enforce the foreign sentence in Germany. The prison sentence in Albania was converted into a remaining sentence of five years and two months. The time already served in Albania was credited towards this new sentence.
