Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has announced a letter to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte requesting that the bridge over the Ibar River not be opened to traffic.
He accused the KFOR Commander, General Ozkan Ulutas, of this plan.
“This is what the Turk, the commander of KFOR, is doing. Today I will write to Mark Rutte and I hope that he will respond to my letter and accept my request that this not be done. For me, this is a great shame and a disappointment. This shows us that nervousness has entered their ranks, they do not know how to force Serbia to accept an independent Kosovo.
“We will see how to help our people. Slowly, things are changing in the world, but not as quickly as we expected. Every day a people is mistreated, driven from their homes. We will see what their response will be,” Vučić said in Belgrade.
A day ago, the European Union confirmed that the conditions for opening the main bridge over the Ibar River in Mitrovica to traffic have been met.
