They blew up ATMs with TNT and took the money, 7 members of a robbery gang are arrested in Italy

Seven people have been arrested in Italy, suspected of being part of a gang that carried out a series of robberies of ATMs and bank counters using explosives.

The arrests were carried out by the Vasto company’s carabinieri, in accordance with security measures issued by the court.

The investigation, codenamed “DEVICE”, began after an attack on a bank counter in Gissi in July 2025. The investigation also uncovered 12 other robberies, carried out from January to September 2025 in the provinces of Chieti, Avellino, Campobasso and Potenza.

According to Italian authorities, the gang is suspected of profiting around 220,000 euros from the attacks, with targets being selected and robberies planned in advance. The movements were carried out using stolen or rented vehicles, as well as phones registered in the names of other people.

The arrested are accused, depending on the case, of aggravated and continuous theft in collaboration, as well as of manufacturing, keeping and possessing weapons or explosives. Investigators state that so far no links to organized crime structures have been identified./Top Channel
