Arjan Konomi has revealed on social media that he was escorted to the Himara Police Station, after a clash that, according to his version, he had with Prime Minister Edi Rama in Vuno.
Through a video posted on Instagram after leaving the police station, Konomi recounted in detail how the situation began. According to him, it all has to do with fines imposed on vehicles parked in Vuno.
“Hello, I just left the … Himara police cell, after the … clash, the confrontation with Prime Minister Edi Rama here in the village of Vuno,” Konomi begins his story.
He claims that numerous vehicles in the village had been fined during the morning and that this had caused discontent among the residents. Later, while returning from a trip to pick figs, Konomi says he saw the prime minister and his escort near a bar in Vuno.
According to him, the escort vehicles were parked in an area where parking was not allowed. Konomi says that at that moment he started filming and asking the officers for an explanation as to why they were not acting the same towards these vehicles.
“Then I started making a video and telling the police why you don’t fine the prime minister, why you don’t fine these cars that are here like you fined the whole of Vuno a while ago,” he says.
Konomi says that Rama called him to the table and invited him to sit down several times, while he continued to talk to him about the parking problem and fines against residents.
“Why don’t you make a parking lot? Why should we get fines? That is, should the residents of this country and the few tourists who come here be fined?”, Konomi says, addressing the prime minister.
In the following video, he claims that the Prime Minister’s wife, Linda Rama, also intervened in the conversation. Konomi uses a series of adjectives towards her, while showing that the debate continued for several moments.
According to his version, the situation then changed when bodyguards intervened.
“Four bodyguards, they snatch my phone… they lift my weight,” declares Konomi, who also claims that his phone was taken away and the videos he had recorded were deleted.
He further says that he was taken by officers and taken to the Himara Police Station, from where he later left.
Konomi also claims that during the episode the prime minister requested his intervention.
Up to this point, the information made public by Konomi does not include a version from the other party regarding the incident and the circumstances that led to his being escorted to the police.
