An unusual incident has occurred in Venice, where a pickpocket has died of a heart attack just minutes after allegedly robbing an elderly couple.
The incident took place around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the Campo dei Frari area. According to Italian media, the man was part of a group of people who stole a wallet from the elderly couple’s backpack.
Among the items taken were important medications for one of the elderly.
After the robbery, the group quickly left the area. But around 1:00 p.m., some passersby noticed one of the robbers suddenly falling to the ground near Palazzo Cosulich.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene and attempted to resuscitate him using a defibrillator. Despite their efforts, the man was unable to survive and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the incident, while the case has been widely reported by Italian media due to the unusual chronology of events.
