One of the three people arrested for the theft of 27 million lek and jewelry worth 5 thousand euros from the house of a butcher in Tirana, has decided to cooperate with the capital’s police by showing the entire dynamics of the event. The event was recorded on August 14, where already arrested are Leonardo Sinani, who is the nephew of the owner of the stolen house, Durim Sinani, Mark Hila and Kleand Tomja. While Antonio Budini has been declared wanted for this event.
According to journalist Elton Qyno, Kleand Tomja, one of the arrested, has told everything to the police, claiming that the organizer and mastermind of the robbery of the butcher Durim Sinani’s house was precisely his nephew, Leonardo Sinani.
Sinani told his 3 friends that they would win 50 million lek each, as his uncle had collected a considerable amount of lek at home. According to him, Sinani explained the layout of the house through a sketch made with a pen on a white paper, where the orientation was to enter through a small window of the garage located on the first floor and which was open. While the day before on August 13, 2026, Kleand Tomja, together with Leonardo Sinani’s girlfriend, Sara, had gone to the area taking photographs and filming the house.
Kleand Tomja has said that the girl named “Sara” went out to check the road to verify where the cameras were located in that area, and she went all the way up to his house. He says that he knows this citizen by the name “Sara”, but as far as I know her name is “Marsela”.
“…on August 14, 2026 I woke up and around 2:00 PM in my car with license plate AB415YF, I went to meet Mark Hilan and we drank coffee for about two hours at ‘Astir’ and then together with Mark we went to his service, which is called ‘ProExhaust’, where we stayed for about 1 and a half to 2 hours…”, Kleand Tomja claimed.
The latter further states that during this time he communicated on the phone with Antonio Bodini, who was coming from Lezha, and then Leonardo Sinani, who is the nephew of the owner of the apartment they had planned to rob, arrived. After Antonio Bodini arrived, Kleand Tomja, Leonardi and Mark Hila talked about the theft of the apartment, where Leonardi gave him directions about the apartment, where they would enter and described it with a sketch.
Leonard also told him that all the people in the apartment would be at a party, where he himself would be present and would inform them of any movement of the apartment owners. He then states that they had planned what clothes they would wear, where Antonio told them to take black clothes, long socks, gloves and a hoodie and that Antonio would find the car they would use to go and commit the theft.
They then dispersed to get their clothes and left to meet again at the service station and were going to commit the theft. According to him, at around 19:30-20:00 they left the service station in a white “Mercedes Benz” vehicle, a new GT model, where Antonio was the driver, the declarant Kleand Tomja was sitting in the front passenger seat, while Mark was sitting in the back seat.
By car, they described the route from the service station towards the “River Residence” complex, then to the intersection that leads to Kashari Street, where there is a nursery, from the intersection they turned left, then to the intersection that leads to “Top Chanel”, then to the Yzberisht roundabout, and from there they took “e Qelqit” street, then they exited onto “Llazi Miho” street and drove towards Sharra, where they parked the car at the “Landfilli” entrance and left the key in the car.
Then Kleand Tomja states that Antonio and Marku had screwdrivers in their hands and Antonio also had Kleand Tomja’s phone, after he asked him to keep it. Further, Tomja states that they described the route through the cemetery in the direction of the apartment they were going to enter. When they got to the apartment, they tried to enter through the main door, but Leonard’s father was there, who recognized Antonio, and at one point they retreated.
Kleand Tomja claimed that he told them to back off and not enter, but Antonio told him that if he backed off there would be problems later. They entered from the courtyard of the apartment, Marku entered first, then he and Antonio entered third. Tomja says that they entered the apartment through a window, which was open and Leonard Sinani informed them about this window.
They entered the garage through the window, where they then went out to the main entrance inside the house and then climbed the stairs to the second floor. When they climbed to the second floor, they looked for the DVR and informed the others that there was a camera and then Marko found the DVR in a room on the second floor and according to the information Leonardi had given him, the money would be in a room with a glass door with a rail.
After they climbed in, Antonio opened the door with a screwdriver and entered the room, where upon entering, there was a table and two sofas with a white plush covering, where the table was between the two sofas and the room had a window opposite the door.
On the table was a box like those for shoes, gray in color. Antonio opened the box and looked inside it at the money. Then Antonio took a white bag between the sofas and inside the bag were two bags with money, one open and the other unopened.
Antonio threw the bags of rubber bands that were in the white bag on the ground and put the money in the white bag. Then Antonio checked the sofa again and under them, and Marko also checked a white toy car like those of children and a stove, which had some items on top of it. He then states that they left through the garage window from which they had entered, where Antonio had the bag of money in his hand, and he the DVR.
Then they went to the place where they had left the car and at the wheel of the car was a person I didn’t know, but whom Antonio called “kushu”. They went to the service station and opened the DVR, where Antonio removed the hard drive, which he placed on top of the toilet, while Mark threw the lid part in the trash.
He further states that they counted the money, which amounted to a total of 16 million lek, some Euros and some 1 dollar bills. Antonio gave 1,000 Euros to the driver who went to pick it up. After they went to the service station, Tomja says that he received 375,000 lek, Antonio and Marku each received 375,000, where Leo divided the money and Leonardo Sinani received the rest of the money.
