The people arrested after the conflict between businessmen Vasil Bedinaj and Luan Muça at the “Regina Palm” resort in Orikum will appear before the court for security measures.
Two of the arrested, Anxhelo Breshani and Blerim Heta, are expected to be informed of the measure at the Vlora Court, while for Luan Muça, Klaudjo Lleshaj and Madrit Lleshaj the procedure will take place in Tirana, as they are in hospital.
The incident occurred on September 3rd at Vasil Bedinaj’s hotel in Orikum.
A group of armed men arrived at the resort in several vehicles and entered, where they confronted the businessman. According to testimony given by Bedinaj, the men demanded 5 million euros.
He also claimed that he was asked to leave Albania within 48 hours.
After he objected, the situation escalated into a physical conflict and gunfire was fired into the air inside the hotel.
Bedinaj notified the Police after the incident and in his testimony mentioned Luan Muça and Madrit Lleshaj as the people who threatened him.
Five people have been arrested for the incident.
Two of them, Anxhelo Breshani and Blerim Heta, will appear in the Vlora Court for the security measure.
Meanwhile, Luan Muça, Klaudjo Lleshaj and Madrit Lleshaj are in hospital in Tirana and the security measures for them will be reviewed in the capital.
Meanwhile, the clash between the two businessmen is being investigated on two tracks. Bedinaj has spoken of a demand of 5 million euros, while Luan Muça’s side has opposed this version and has linked the clash to a property conflict and an investment on the south coast.
In connection with the case, the Police have also announced a search for Bujar Muça, Luan Muça’s brother, while the suspicion that another person may have been injured during the collision is also being verified.
Investigators have checked hospitals in Vlora, Fier and Tirana to verify whether any people have presented with injuries that could be related to the incident.
Also, two Military Police officers were found to have been in “Regina Palm” during the conflict. According to the Minister of Defense, they were off duty and have been suspended until verifications of their role are completed.
Today, the courts are expected to determine security measures for the arrested persons, while the investigation continues to fully clarify the conflict and the responsibilities of each person.
