New details have been made public regarding the search conducted on September 3 at Durrës prison, where six mobile phones were found in sector B.
According to information made public, four of the phones allegedly belonged to brothers Artur and Klevis Hoxhosmani, Adi Çoba, known as “Bozholi”, and Renardo Nallban.
The phones were allegedly hidden inside a punching bag, which was located in the prison gym. The devices have been seized and sent to SPAK, where they are expected to undergo examination and analysis in the special expertise laboratory.
For brothers Artur and Klevis Hoxhosmani, this is not the first time a phone has been found in prison. During a search conducted on May 15, an iPhone was also found on one of them.
The Hoxhosmani brothers are involved in an investigation into a criminal group suspected of international drug trafficking. According to the investigation, the group is suspected of having trafficked more than 6 tons of drugs, with an estimated value of around 411 million euros, from Latin America to Europe.
Klevis and Artur Hoxhosmani were arrested after an investigation lasting about a year, in which the testimony of Erion Alibej, who cooperated with justice, also played an important role.
Investigations show that the group was active during 2020-2021 in several European countries, focusing on trafficking cocaine and hashish from Colombia and Ecuador to European Union countries and the United Kingdom.
The contents of the six mobile phones are now expected to be analyzed by experts, while their data may serve investigators to verify the communications and contacts of suspects inside and outside the prison premises.
