What started as a serious accident at Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ’s home in Istanbul has now turned into a major issue. After a worker fell from the roof of the actor’s property, a questionable agreement, charges of a retroactively dated document and a criminal complaint involving Tatlıtuğ’s name have emerged. The serious incident took place on August 31 at the actor’s property in Göktürk, on the European side of Istanbul.
Bahadur Yangibayev, a citizen from Turkmenistan who had been brought in for cleaning work, fell from the roof and suffered serious injuries. He was taken to intensive care, while investigations were launched immediately after the incident to determine responsibility.
The focus of the investigation was placed on AA, the owner of the company that was carrying out renovation work on the actor’s property. He was questioned by the authorities, but stated that Yangibayev was not his employee and that he had not given him any instructions to go out onto the roof. AA was subsequently released under judicial control. But it was here that the story took an unexpected turn.
AA claims that while he was at the police station, a lawyer he identified as representing Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ came to see him and asked him to sign a three-page document. According to him, the first page only mentioned “painting and renovation” work, while he later suspected that the document might have been dated after the fact, allegedly attempting to shift responsibility for the accident to his company.
The allegations have now become part of a legal battle. AA’s lawyer, Fatma Uluca Telli, has filed a criminal complaint against Tatlıtuğ and lawyer IA, also requesting the examination of the original document. But it doesn’t end there. The complaint also alleges that AA’s will may have been violated when he signed the agreement. Meanwhile, another request has been filed with the Istanbul Bar Association, requesting the initiation of disciplinary proceedings against lawyer IA for allegations regarding the use of his professional position.
On the other hand, Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ’s lawyer has refuted the claims that have been made public about the case. So, while an accident on the actor’s property is being investigated by the authorities, different versions are now facing each other on a document that may have become an important part of the file. The investigation continues, while it remains to be revealed what really happened on the actor’s property and whether the signed document will play a key role in determining responsibilities.
