Socialist MP Zegjine Çaushi has made a public reaction regarding the incident that occurred two days ago in Roskovec, where her uncle injured her former father-in-law with a sickle.
According to Çaushi, she met her mother’s brother by chance in June, while she was having meetings in the area, after hearing about their relationship she says she congratulated them. And then, together with a cousin present, they asked Merita Gremaj “have you made up your mind? Will you get married?”, and after Gremaj confirmed this, ignoring her father’s opinion, Çaushi said “Don’t cause us any problems”, referring to her father’s consent.
The MP also seems to imply through her reaction that both her uncle and his former partner will need to be treated psychologically.
“At the same time, I think this is a case that should be treated seriously and carefully, also from a psychological perspective, for both people, with the aim of finding the right solution and preventing any further escalation,” Çaushi wrote.
She emphasizes that she was there for only 10 minutes and was informed about the event by the media. “I was informed about this event through the media, just like the public opinion. I want to say it very clearly: I strongly condemn any form of VIOLENCE, regardless of WHO it was practiced by,” says the socialist MP.
The MP also posted a photo of her uncle and his former partner.
