Poland said military aircraft had been scrambled due to Russian drone attacks in Ukraine. The government also issued an airstrike alert for residents of two regions in eastern Poland.

Meanwhile, a Ukrainian official told Reuters that explosions were heard several kilometers from Ukraine’s border with Poland during a Russian drone strike earlier in the day.
Separately, the country’s border service said there was no damage to border posts after the attack.
